The ancient Medici Villa and the four typical Tuscan country houses have been carefully renovated and outfitted with all modern conveniences, to allow our guests to fully enjoy their vacation.

Location

Our Winery is in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. The central location makes it possible to reach well-known art cities like Florence, Siena or Pisa simply and quickly. Many historical, cultural, artistic, scenic and culinary venues of central Tuscany are also very close (for example the ancient monastery of Badia a Passignano, San Gimignano or the famous via Francigena).

Guided tour - Wine Tasting

Every Friday morning 10:00 am, you can sign up for a guided visit of our winery, which includes a visit of the cellars, the small private museum, the chapel and the panoramic terrace. After the tour there will be a wine and olive oil tasting.
Tour + tasting about 2 hours.

The farmhouse in spring/summer

During this time of the year the major cities are very busy and crowded, you can choose from a lot of different events or open air concerts all over Tuscany. For those who like outdoor activities our city, Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, has 7 different trekking paths and you can rent bicycles or mountain bikes.

The farmhouse in autumn/winter

For those who enjoy the quiet of winter and would like to visit the museums in Florence without having to queue, this is the best time of the year. Restaurants, shopkeepers and market traders will welcome you and do everything they can to make your stay worthwhile. Tuscany has numerous hot springs where you can take a bath and relax, even during winter. September is an interesting month because it's grape picking season while the olive harvest starts late October or beginning of November. All our rooms and Apartments have central heating.

History

After the unusual cold winter of 1984/1985, most of the olive trees were frozen and many farms were put up for sale. At that time, the Swiss oenologist Jan Karel Waspi had visited 43 Farms located in France, Spain and Italy until he found Spoiano and fell in love with Tuscany. December 1985, at the age of 29, he bought the farm and has been working passionately ever since.
